“Día de los muertos” 2015: a celebration of life.

Casa Azul of Greensboro will be hosting on November 1st & 2nd, 2015 a lively reception for its fifth annual “Day of the Dead” event. “El Día de los Muertos”  is a time of remembrance of loved ones who have passed away.  Since 2008 the tradition was inscribed in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. “El Día de los Muertos” is a celebration that emerged from the fusion of prehispanic rituals that date back more than 3,000 years and Catholic influences from Europe. Casa Azul announces Greensboro’s fourth annual Día de Muertos/Day of the Dead Altar Exhibit on Saturday, November 1st and Sunday, November 2nd, 2014 in downtown Greensboro. Casa Azul will share this traditional celebration from Mexico and other Latin American countries with the community through an exhibition of original altars and an opening celebration. All the events are free and open to the general public.
